My personal highlight: choosing a wine is as simple, if you get the right guidance and personal advises, paired with delicious food it is a highlight of my day
You do not need to be the most experienced sommelier to find a wine you like. Sometimes it is just relaxing to go with the taste of your senses and soul. THE VIN-TAGE is located close to Limmatplatz and the perfect place to discover a selection of small batch international wines & soul food with a Fusion Asian Style. Maybe a perfect stop before heading for party at Langstrasse, too!
How to experience wine at THE VIN-TAGE Wine Café
The ambience is relaxed, you feel the good vibes around you. Take your time to taste you through their wines. Ask the experienced staff or just start by yourself choosing a wine with simple facts:
- is my taste sweet or medium sweet?
- or maybe more dry?
- Or even half dry?
There is a very useful and simple wine menu guiding you through their offer indicating grape, country and the year.
Gabriel the owner shares his motivation for bringing to life this Wine Café. It’s simple he says, you have a homy ambience, a selection of wines coming from small producer batches. This means, you choose out of rarities. Maybe the bottle you drink today is not here tomorrow! Since there are more than 50 wines to choose out, this makes it even more interesting to try various bottles.
If you like to buy a bottle for home you can taste one glass at the Wine Café. The glass is included in the price of the bottle. Very attractive offer I found. In the mood to order some wine now? Get to know there online shop here.
Why a Wine Café?
It’s not a bar where you enter to test your wine knowledge and get only brands from large wine producers. THE VIN-TAGE is a place to step in to enjoy a glass or two with time and delicious food. Chef Michael Adams creates delicacies that pair excellent with your glass. The food covers an Asian Fusion Style. Find also simple bites as cheese or Spanish ham.
My personal recommendation
Choose a flying dinner with your wine. Share different plates with friends. There is the option to choose 5 or 8 plates. Michael decides in the morning while he strolls through the market, what will be on the plate later. There is always a selection of beef, seafood and fresh vegetables.
What I liked very much was the super fresh Ceviche. The sauce very aromatic with fresh thin sliced radish and kumquat. The beef came very tender and delicately placed on a tasty sweet onion cream. The scallop was cooked at perfect point and placed on a bed of fresh salad and aromatic herbs. There is always a choice for veggies, too, just ask the Chef. The cuisine is delicate and light. The plates are prepared with love and dedication. Convince yourself!
