Island hopping from Malaysia to Koh Lipe

Sharing is caring! That’s how driving taxi made me meet the best travel buddies ever traveling to Koh Lipe Thailand

Crystal clear waters, delicious simple street food and plenty of lovely souls

What exciting days in Malaysia and Thailand! I experienced one of the most beautiful places on earth called: Koh Lipe Thailand! Turquoise water, sandy white beaches! The resort we stayed was magic. The Serendipity Beach Resorts, is an absolutely must do, once in a while to give oneself aCr Who would ever told me, that I would travel 10 days of my trip with two Belgian Moroccan guys? I can’t remember one night without laughing while hanging around with Hamid and Faouaz. It would take me hours to write down what we experienced together. And all of that began only because I wanted to share taxi costs to the airport to catch my flight to a beautiful city called Georgetown Penang.

Travel with a free spirit

You know what people out there, we should move at home how we move while we travel, with a free spirit and more openhearted. Life has so much beauty to offer and back home we kind of live stuck in our system, habits and routine. Life is unpredictable, that is why you should go with the flow of it.
A special thing I have to point out are the Malaysian people I met, all of them made our journey so beautiful, it’s an amazing friendly folk with much cultural mix (Indian, Chinese, Malaysian) and so much serene happy people always to help out. It feels good to be surrounded with love and peace!

No please, I don’t want KFC food

1. Two food related stories out of my journey. I had to eat at KFCs. OMG, the chicken was so so dead! Never again guys! 2. On one of our journeys the taxi driver stopped especially for us to buy us some fresh boiled corn cob! It was so delicious!

Where to sleep  and have Yoga in Malaysia & Thailand

Lots of super delicious street food wherever you walk! For these no link is available, you walk on the streets and follow your nose.

Singapore I give you a second chance

Discover Singapore also with a low budget – The Lovefoodish experience

I came back here to see a good friend that moved here from Zurich and guess what, this time I got really warm with the city.
My only touristic attraction on the program: The tree walk at Gardens by the bay. The view is unique up there. Entrance is about 28 SGD. It’s very touristy but kind of a must see, you will like it.

My top do do’s in Singapore: Food stalls, arabic district & china town

What Impressed me much are the hawker in the city where you get best and good priced local food. These food stalls are super clean,  the quality and variety of food is amazing. I had super delicious ramen soup and dumplings!
The arabic district and chinatown of course are a must, too. Just by case walking out of little india we found a great fancy shopping street with affordable vintage clothes.

Hipster Food at Timbre+

For foodies I recommend timbre+ a gastro park made in containers with 35 food stalls and live music. Europe, we need one of this, too!. The samurai pizza is a must try! You will have a explosion of flavors, pulled beef meet, caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese, dark deep fried dough, fingerlicking!
Said that. Use uber in Singapore, too. The driver give so much input about places to go and what to do.I experience them as kind of local guides so so lovely!
And yes of course there are several cool food places in shopping centers you can try out, too.
  • I recommend Din Tai Fung in the Paragon Shopping Centre. Really great dumplings.

Areas to stay during your trip:

  • China town or east coast! Nice nightlife with plenty of restaurants.

Kuala Lumpur you are magic!

What better welcome as a thunderstorm to get startet in Kuala Lumpur?

This city welcomed me with a thunderstorm and a deep black sky! Loved it because it’s one way to express deep emotions! After settled down in my airbnb, a lady dorm in a luxury business building on the 27 floor (12 Euros per night) I spend 5 minutes on the terrace. The voice of the muezzin, the sun going down, the lights of the buildings starting to shine in the dark, a cemetery with thousands of graves, wow.
I feel good here. My travel continuous to be rich of experiences.

Simple delicious food, modern buildings (Petronas Tower) and hearty people all over!

While waiting at the monorail station I talked to two local girls inviting me to dinner at their home. I felt so much honored!
By the way, in KL you can easily move with the monorail.

How to get around in KL best: use UBER

I absolutely recommend to use UBER as much as possible! The UBER driver were my personal city guides! And since it was obvious that I love food they brought me to places I would never find by myself.
I recommend china town, central market, go up to the KL tower at night and stand on the glass platform,  feel freeeeedom with a touch of safety under your feet ! magic!
Absolutely must stop at upton danau kota for really good local food and a fancy chaotic night bazar.

How to meet locals in Jaffa Tel Aviv

My personal highlight: Following my nose to an airbnb in the middle of the arabic area where the best hummus in town is just close to it

While walking along the harbor without any plan I crush into a group of locals. They invite me to a fancy place for food and drinks. This are my first 15 minutes in Tel Aviv. This people tell me all I needed to know to discover the city the next few days.

My favorite place to hang around

Plan time in the old town area around the harbor. The port is 4,000-plus-year-old. In Jaffa ancient and bohemian collide in ever more creative ways. Think: a hive of new galleries, makers’ spaces beside bars and restaurants.

Accommodation

Book your room with airbnb. Choose YAFO creative house. As the name says, their home is full of art in every corner of the house. The owner are a group of lovely, creative people. They host art and live music events and you are always welcome to meet new people and friends of them. Take the chance to taste fresh local food, too.

Tel Aviv Streetfood – best hummus ever

Just around the corner of their home is the best hummus place in town! It’s named: Abu Hasan / Ali Karavan.

Where to go for dinner

Shila – www.en.shila-rest.co.il
I think it’s the best Mediterranean Restaurant. The restaurant serves delicious locally-sourced meat and seafood. Check out their tasty a la plancha dishes of seafood and vegetables. The waiters are friendly and dedicated to every wish you have.

Want to enjoy a good coffee?

Cafe Xoho – www.cafexoho.com
Laid back deco, delicious healthy vegetarian home-made food and good strong coffee. This place is a favorite hangout amongst local and international crowd in Tel Aviv. Be sure to try their delicious all-day breakfasts and their famous cookies.

I absolutely recommend a visit of this metropole. You will love the mix of history and modern life of happy smiling people.
